AIIC members must satisfy stringent requirements. These interpreters are expected to have completed a university degree and to have several years of experience working as conference interpreters. They are subject to a Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.

AIIC is the only interpreters’ organisation recognised by major international organisations such as the United Nations, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
