Court interpreters are specialised in criminal cases and work primarily for judicial authorities, such as courts of law and police services. They are educated in the legal and general terminology of the Dutch legal system and that of the legal system from the other country concerned. Most have a thorough command of two languages and provide consecutive or whispered interpretation or work sentence by sentence.
